Brand New Life (LP) Time-Limited

“Brand New Life” is Younger’s second album for Impulse! Records. For her first album, “Somewhere Different,” she won the 2022 Edison Jazz International award. This album features original compositions alongside a selection of interpretations of pieces by Dorothy Ashby, the jazz harpist who had a great influence on Younger. She represents a generation of jazz musicians who grew up in an era when hip-hop was strongly present in American popular culture. On “Brand New Life,” she infuses harmony, rhythm, and melody with influences from hip-hop, rock, and pop music.
